US Senator Scott Brown, Republican of Massachusetts, is rolling out a television spot Tuesday that highlights his bipartisan record in Washington, according to his reelection campaign.
The 30-second spot, dubbed “Diner” and shot at James’ Breakfast and More in Wrentham, shows Brown entering the restaurant and speaking directly into the camera.
“The problem with Washington is that people down there are always battling,” Brown says. “That’s not how I operate. We’re Americans first, and I’ll work with anyone to get things done.”
He goes on to speak of his advocacy for key legislation.
“I was the tiebreaking vote on Wall Street reform, led the way on a jobs bill for veterans, and helped pass a strong new ethics law for Congress,” he says.
A Globe headline citing a Congressional Quarterly study calling Brown the “2dMost Bipartisan Senator in 2011” later appears on the screen, and the spot ends with a note of encouragement from a waitress.
“You deserve another cup,” she says as she refills his coffee mug.
