BOSTON – The Brown campaign today released the latest edition of the Scott Brown Radio Report, called “Fishermen.” The statewide radio ad is running today.
In the ad, Brown discusses the importance of the fishing industry to Massachusetts and its economy, and how it is being negatively affected by unfair regulations from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Since joining the Senate, Brown has been an outspoken critic of NOAA, calling for the firing of Administrator Jane Lubchenco last fall, and last week blasting them for their decision to hire a magician at an upcoming conference.
This 60-second advertisement is part of a series of “Radio Reports” to be released by Brown during the course of the campaign. A transcript of the ad is included below.

Script for Scott Brown Radio Report: Fishermen
ANNOUNCER: “Here’s Scott Brown with the Scott Brown radio report.”
U.S. SENATOR SCOTT BROWN: “Hello, this is Scott Brown.
“We have a proud tradition of fishing in Massachusetts. It’s been the subject of countless books and movies. It’s also been a source of strength for our economy, going back to our earliest days.
“But our fishing industry is dying, and Washington is to blame. Fishermen have been hit with crushing fines, unrealistic catch limits, and arbitrary enforcement.
“As a result, people have lost their jobs, their homes, and their way of life. The agency responsible for this crisis is completely out of touch and unresponsive.
“Just recently, they bought a $300,000 party boat using funds meant to help fishermen. To this day, no one has been held accountable for these abuses.
“What does it take to get fired in Washington?
“Our fishermen and their families deserve better from their government, and I’m going to fight to protect them.
ANNOUNCER: “That was Scott Brown with the Scott Brown radio report.”
BROWN: “I’m Scott Brown, and I approve this message.”
