U.S. Sen. Scott Brown has accepted a debate invite at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute with Elizabeth Warren but with two conditions attached, his campaign announces this afternoon.
First, the Brown camp wants Vicki Kennedy to pledge neutrality in the race and not endorse either Brown or Warren.
Second, Brown wants only local media to sponsor the event, not NBC. But Brown has approved Tom Brokaw as moderator.
“In order to proceed, we need to know that in keeping with the spirit of neutrality expressed in Vicki Kennedy’s letter that she will not endorse or otherwise get involved in this race,” reads a letter to Kennedy from Brown campaign manager Jim Barnett.
