Ads Are First Featuring Scott Brown’s Wife
BOSTON - The Brown campaign announced that it is introducing two new television advertisements this week starring Gail Huff, Senator Brown’s wife of nearly 26 years and a former reporter on Boston television, speaking about Scott Brown’s supportive role as a husband and father. The ads, titled “Husband” and “Dad,” feature Huff seated on a couch at the family’s home in Wrentham, speaking directly to the camera without a script.
In “Dad,” Huff talks about the demands of working full time and credits Brown for helping her balance work and family responsibilities by taking on a major role in the raising of their two daughters, Ayla and Arianna.
In “Husband,” Huff elaborates on the encouragement she got from Brown to pursue a professional career, and how he has always supported her desire “to have my own life, to have my own identity.”
Both ads conclude with a still shot of the entire family gathered around Brown’s GMC pick-up truck, the first time the truck — made famous in Brown’s 2010 Special Election as a symbol of his “regular guy” image — has appeared in Brown’s advertising this cycle.
The 30-second ads will begin airing statewide Tuesday in the Boston, Springfield, Providence and Albany markets, as well as on statewide cable.

SCRIPT FOR “DAD” (TV:30)
GAIL HUFF: “I was a reporter on Boston TV for many years. I don’t know how many husbands would want their wives getting up at 1:30 in the morning to go to work. Scott did all the morning routine: get the girls up, get them fed, get them dressed, get them off to school. He did everything with the kids, and he was the one that was always there during the day. If the kids had a problem, they didn’t call me, they called Dad, because Dad was the one that was always there. And he still is.”

SCRIPT FOR “HUSBAND” (TV :30)
GAIL HUFF: “I think you learn a lot about someone when you live with them, when you are married to them. Scott’s always been the one that encouraged me professionally, encouraged me to have my own life, to have my own identity. He’s always been very, very sure about the women in his life to have their own lives. He is by far the most understanding of women probably of any man I know.”
