BOSTON - Today, the Brown campaign announced that this week’s Internet sensation “Let America Be America Again” is trending in the #1 spot in YouTube’s “News and Politics” category.
As of early Thursday afternoon, the video has more than a quarter million views since its launch Monday morning.
Videos are rated based on the number of video views, whether the number of views are increasing exponentially, how many articles include the link as well as social media mentions. To view the rating chart, please click HERE.
“This video has been such an online sensation because it fundamentally breaks down the choice in this election and the direction we want to take our country,” said Jim Barnett, campaign manager for Scott Brown. ”Until now, the American Idea has always been that if you have a vision, work hard, and play by the rules then you can build something that no one can take away. Today, this concept is under attack from Professor Warren and others who share her ‘you didn’t build that’ philosophy and who instead believe that what’s yours actually belongs to someone else.”
“Let America Be America Again” opens with inspirational speeches from former U.S. Presidents, including John F. Kennedy, Bill Clinton, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan and Lyndon B. Johnson, praising American free enterprise and small business owners. The video includes Harvard Professor Elizabeth Warren’s infamous comment at a house party last year that, “there is nobody in this country who got rich on his own.” The video closes with Scott Brown speaking to a local Chamber of Commerce, and saying that he, “will never demonize you as business leaders and owners for the work you have done or the opportunities you create.”
