Shrewsbury Lantern: Shrewsbury Resident Recognized By Senator Brown

July 5, 2012 By scottbrown Leave a Comment

SHREWSBURY, Massachusetts – Senator Scott Brown paid a visit to the region this week to congratulate Veterans Inc., on receiving a $400,000 grant designed to broaden veterans access to public transportation. He also presented long overdue medals to Quincy native Russell Erikson for his valor during World War II.

While in town, he had the opportunity to chat with Shrewsbury resident Ed Hack, now a Veterans Inc. employee, who found his job via Senator Browns job fair back in January.

“The Job Fair sponsored by Senator Scott Brown at Worcester State University in January was the first job fair I attended. At the time I was 6 months from retirement and was looking forward to the opportunity to meet with potential employers. As a career soldier I wasn’t sure what to expect but felt I had a solid resume, a good “elevator speech” and the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) at Hanscom Air Force Based had provided me with a great foundation.
