Republican U.S. Sen Scott Brown has added another Democratic name to his growing list of across-the-aisle endorsements in the Massachusetts Senate race.
Paul Walsh, the former Democratic District Attorney of Bristol County, formally stumped for the incumbent Republican Senator on Monday in his bid against Harvard Law School professor Elizabeth Warren.
“We don’t need Republican ideas in Washington, we don’t need Democratic ideas: we need solutions. Scott gets it. Common sense,” Walsh said at the Shawmut Diner in New Bedford. “I vote for someone who will look me in the eye and give me a straight answer. That’s why I’ll cross the line. It doesn’t matter to me if he’s a Republican, if he’s a Democrat, if he’s rich or he’s poor.”
Walsh joins nine other Bay State Democrats who have endorsed Brown as his campaign works to strengthen his independent image.
