Three more major New England media outlets will provide live coverage of the Oct. 1 University of Massachusetts Lowell/Boston Herald Senate debate, dramatically raising the stakes for U.S. Sen. Scott Brown and Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren.
New England Cable News, WBZ-AM and WRKO-AM announced they are carrying the one-hour debate live in what is sure to be a pivotal moment in the Senate battle. WHDH-TV (Ch. 7) had already signed on to air the debate live.
“WBZ NewsRadio is looking forward to carrying this debate between Elizabeth Warren and Scott Brown, because it’s a critical Senate race for the WBZ audience and also for control of the Senate,” said Peter Casey, director of news and programming. “Debates have become a major element and deciding factor in modern campaigns, and we are proud to take part in the process of letting the people choose.”
