BROWN, ROSS HOST WRENTHAM ACTING CHIEF JAY McMORROW AT THE STATE HOUSE
 

BOSTON, MA – Senator Scott Brown and Representative Richard Ross recently honored Acting Chief Jay McMorrow of the Wrentham Fire Department at the State House with a citation recognizing his heroism in saving young Molly McDermott’s life.

On Tuesday March 18th at 12:34pm the Wrentham Fire & Police departments were dispatched to a home for a child who was not breathing, Acting Chief McMorrow happened to be driving by the house at the time of that dispatch and was first on the scene.

He immediately stopped and was met at the front door by the child's mother holding her unconscious two year old daughter who was not breathing. Acting Chief McMorrow was able to clear her airway, perform mouth to mouth resuscitation and then immediately carry her to the arriving Wrentham ambulance where she began breathe on her own.

Wrentham fire personnel then transported her to Norwood hospital where she was later transferred to Children’s hospital. Young Molly McDermott of Wrentham is alive and well thanks to the quick thinking and action of Acting Chief McMorrow.
