BROWN EARNS HIGHEST RATING FROM ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP

BOSTON, MA – State Senator Scott Brown received a 100% rating from the Massachusetts Audubon Society in their 2007 Legislative Report Card.

The report card, a compilation of roll call votes on bills affecting the environment, has been published annually since 1985. Mass Audubon reports the environmental voting records of the Massachusetts legislature to inform citizens of their state legislators’ performance in protecting the nature of Massachusetts.

In 2007, the Senate voted on 14 environmental roll call votes out of a total of 158 roll calls.

“It is an honor to be recognized in this manner,” stated Senator Brown. “I take very seriously my responsibility as a citizen and a lawmaker to work for cleaner water and air, and to reduce the toxic elements that are harmful to our environment.”

Senator Brown has been a vocal supporter of recycling programs and the promotion of incentives for purchasing alternative fuel vehicles.
