BROWN EARNS MORE HIGH GRADES FROM ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP
BOSTON, MA – State Senator Scott Brown has earned an “A” rating from the Massachusetts League of Environmental Voters (MLEV) for his proven voting record to protect the nature of Massachusetts. Brown scored 100% on the 2007 Mid-Term Environmental Progress Report. This report presents the progress of the General Court midway through the legislative session on environmental issues.
MLEV is a non-partisan organization that objectively evaluated a broad range of environmental issues that were voted upon in 2007. A full Environmental Scorecard will be released at the end of session that covers 2007-2008.
“As a citizen and a lawmaker, I take seriously my responsibility to do all I can to protect our environment,” stated Senator Brown. “We have made significant progress in the past few years, but still have much to do in terms of preserving green space, reducing emissions, recycling, and shifting to alternative fuels.”
Senator Brown has been a vocal supporter of recycling programs and the promotion of incentives for purchasing alternative fuel vehicles and efforts to move our Commonwealth and nation away from dependence on foreign and fossil fuels.
Recently, Senator Brown received a 100% rating from the Massachusetts Audubon Society in their 2007 Legislative Report Card.
