Senator Brown's Staff
Gregory Casey, Chief
of Staff
Greg has served as Senator Brown's Chief of Staff since March of 2004, but he has a long record of public service, having served in the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs, as Director of Community and Local Relations, and as the Director of Community and Constituent Services for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health before that. He began his legislative service as a policy analyst in the Office of the House Minority Leader from 1995-1997.
Greg served as a Needham Town Meeting member from 1998-2002, and currently serves on the Executive Board of the Needham Heights Neighborhood Association and as a member of the Needham Historical Society. He is also a member of the Governor's Commission on Disability Policy.
A Needham native, Greg was Political Director of “Healey for Lt. Governor” campaign in 2002, and was a Field Coordinator for the Romney for Senate Campaign in 1994. He is a 1993 graduate of Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island, and a 1989 graduate of Catholic Memorial High School in West Roxbury.
Maria Coakley, Communications Director
Maria joined Senator Brown’s Office in September 2007 and serves as
the Senator’s Communications Director. Maria graduated from
Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication
Studies in August 2007. While at NU she completed two six month
co-op placements; one with Sealift Logistics Command Pacific a
contracting division of the United States Navy, as a Procurement
Technician, and another with the Law Firm Wilmer Cutler Pickering
Hale and Door, as a Public Relations Assistant.
Maria handles all communications related issues for the Senator
including media relations, newsletters, and website development. She also organizes the intern program.
Dan Diorio, Legislative Director
Dan joined Senator Brown's Office in December 2007 and serves as the
Senator's Legislative Director. Dan graduated from Boston College
with a Bachelor of Arts in History in May 2007. Before joining the
staff, Dan was staff member for the Jim Ogonowski for
Congress Campaign 2007.
Erika Paulhus, Constituent Services Director
Erika joined Senator Brown's Office in September 2008 and serves as
the Senator's Constituent Services Director. Erika graduated from
Roger Williams University with a Bachelor of Arts and Science in
Communication Studies in May 2008. While at Roger Williams, Erika
interned in Senator Brown’s State House office during the Fall 2007
semester.
Austin Lord, District Aide
Austin joined Senator Brown's staff in August 2008 and serves as the
Senator's chief liaison to both constituents and municipal
government in the district. He conducts all of the District Office
Hours on Senator Brown's behalf and assists the Senator in helping
to solve both the concerns and issues of constituents and local
governments.
Austin graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in Policy Analysis and Management in May 2008. While at Cornell, Austin interned with the Pioneer Institute for Public Policy and Research in Boston, MA.
